I’m Shane Lintunen! I’m a finn, but I’ve been born and raised in Thunder Bay, Canada. I’ve grown up in a Christian family, but through most of my life, I was living the “routine”. I would go to church on Sundays, but I would completely change my personality when I was away from church. I didn’t really fit in, so I did everything I could to fit in. I got mixed up with drinking, partying, and just being wreckless and careless. Around 3 years ago, we got a new Youth Pastor at my church, and I was very convicted and began to turn my life around. I’m in such freedom now! God has really released from a double-life and I now live fully for Him!

When I came to DTS in Finland, the team took me like I was one of the family, even though I’m the international student. I also thought I had most of life figured out and that I wouldn’t be seeing a big change in my life. I thought all the big changes already happened…I was wrong. In the last 10 weeks or so, I’ve gotten to know God SO MUCH more, and He’s been showing me so many things! I’ve been able to change a bad root in my thought-life. I’ve seen God working in me, and also through me! I’ve learned to hear God’s voice and being guided by Him. I’ve seen God provide for me in so many ways. We have had some very powerful worship, great times in prayer, amazing teaching, and alot of fun together! DTS is a very intense time. You go through good times and tough times, but you learn so much about yourself and about God. You learn to rely only on God. I’m so excited to see how God will use me and the team when we go to on outreach!

There is just one rule of Finnish summer: go outside. You can come in when it gets dark. Summer in Finland is short but the days are long. You can fit two or three days of activities into each one.
